Welcome to the Jan Lindhe International Symposium

Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg and the Scandinavian Society of Periodontology we are delighted to invite you to Göteborg and the 5th Jan Lindhe International Symposium on Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. The title of the current Symposium is Looking to the future of periodontal/implant therapy and the internationally renowned speakers, each representing different fields of expertise, will provide new insights and critical analyses on the future in periodontal and implant therapy.

The first session will address the panorama for the future regarding periodontitis and peri-implantitis and to what extent such diseases or the use of systemic antibiotics will be a threat to global health. Decisions in treatment planning, taking in new treatment concepts in daily practice, will be approached in the second session. The final session will address future perspectives on dental implant therapy, including the target patient, implant material, treatment options in the esthetic zone and management of peri-implantitis.

We are also pleased to announce the third recipient of the Jan Lindhe Award. The winner of the award will present an award lecture at the end of the first day of the Symposium. There will also be a poster session with a young investigator competition.

We hope that you will find the program stimulating and plan for a visit to Göteborg and the 5th Jan Lindhe International Symposium.
